Ladies, Here’s 3 Good Reasons To Shave During Winter

As always, let me preface this by letting you know that this blog has been written by a woman. I dare any man to tell me why I should shave. Seriously, don’t even try it. So, now that we’ve got that out of the way, here are some genuinely good reasons that you might want to reconsider letting your hair grow wild over winter.

Shaving For Winter Exfoliation and Hydration

Let’s face it, most of us get a little more relaxed about body hair once the cold weather arrives. After all, this is the season of jeans, leggings and joggers, no one will ever know what’s going on underneath. But it isn’t just hair that is left to its own devices, it’s your skin too.

During a typical shave, you’ll lather up with a good shaving cream or, dare I say it, soap (read why soap is doing you no favours here). You’ll also run a razor across your skin, incidentally exfoliating dry, dead skin cells in the process. And then, you follow up by moisturising that freshly shaved skin – am I right?

Well, when you stop shaving over winter, the cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising tends to stop too; out of sight, out of mind. By sticking to your regular shaving routine, you’re less likely to be faced with damage control come Spring.

You Time

It’s cold outside. It’s dark when you wake up, it’s dark when you go to bed. Finding ways to indulge in a little pampering and “me time” is a must for Autumn and Winter. No, shaving your legs doesn’t really fall into the same category as meditation or yoga, but extending that shower or bath by an extra 5 minutes can only be a good thing, right?

Embrace it. Light a candle, put on some music and find sensuality in the little things that are usually oh so ordinary.

Spontaneity

There have been many a year that I’ve put down the razor in August and not picked it up again until March. So trust me when I say I understand why you might forego shaving once the summer dresses have been stored away. However, one thing I’ve learned is that unless you’re ready to proudly display your hairy pits and bits, chances are you’re going to miss out on a few opportunities.

I’m not talking “meeting-the-man-of-your-dreams-in-Tesco” moments, although you’d certainly be kicking yourself for not being prepared for that one. I’m talking about more general opportunities, those spontaneous moments that you might miss if the thought of exposing your legs holds you back.

Jumping in the hot tub after a glass of wine with the girls. Taking the kids for an impromptu swim at the local pool. If an extra layer of hair would stop you in your tracks, it’s probably worth keeping on top of shaving.

Just as I like to preface these blogs by making my gender clear, I also like to finish by reminding you that there’s nothing wrong with body hair. If you like it, grow it baby! But if you don’t, you can trust Pure Shave to give you the results you deserve.
