1 – Razor Burn

One of the most common complaints consumers have when shaving is razor burn and irritation. This can cause redness, bumps, and itching. It is a complaint I have suffered with ever since I started shaving. There are many causes of razor burn. Apart from personal factors like skin type and stubble growth etc. The most common external causes of razor burn stem from one or more of the following.

Shaving Medium 

It is all about the ingredients used in foams, gels and creams. In very basic terms, many shaving foams and gels use alcohols in their formula that evaporate when they come in contact with the skin. The rapidly expanding gas causes the formula to ‘foam up’ creating a large volume of the required foam. Why is this a problem? Well, for those who suffer from razor burn these alcohols can dry the skin out and cause irritation.
