Is Natural Shaving Cream best for sensitive skin?

Short answer, absolutely yes by a royal mile! First and foremost, natural shaving cream is free of synthetic chemicals and harsh ingredients that can cause irritation and inflammation.

Shaving can be a painful and uncomfortable experience for those with sensitive skin, I suffered for years before I developed Pure Shave (and wasted so much money on every new product that came out!). Irritation, redness, and razor burn can all result from using the wrong shaving cream, foam or gel. That’s why many of us with sensitive skin are turning to a natural shaving cream as the best option for a comfortable and irritation-free shave.

What to avoid?

Many main stream shaving creams contain harsh chemicals like sodium lauryl sulfate, parabens, and synthetic fragrances that can play havoc with sensitive skin (even natural fragrances and be irritants). Natural shaving creams, on the other hand, are made with ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, and essential oils (to name but a few) that are gentle and nourishing to the skin. They work to soothe and hydrate the skin, reducing the risk of razor burn and irritation.

What’s available?

One example of a natural shaving cream available in the UK is Bulldog Skincare’s Original Shave Cream. This cream is made with natural ingredients like aloe vera, camelina oil, and green tea to provide a gentle and moisturising shave. It’s also vegan-friendly and free of synthetic fragrances and artificial colours. The price for Bulldog Skincare’s Original Shave Cream is around £6.00 for a 200ml tube.

Another natural shaving cream option available in the UK is Lush’s Prince Shaving Cream. This cream is made with a blend of natural ingredients like lavender, oat milk, and cocoa butter to provide a soothing and nourishing shave. It’s also cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. The price for Lush’s Prince Shaving Cream is around £9.00 for a 100g pot.

Which is best?

While there are many natural shaving creams available on the market, Pure Shave London’s shaving cream stands out for those with sensitive skin. The cream was developed specifically with the aim to eradicate shaving rash and razor burn – after five years developing it, I am happy to report it does this to great effect. Check out our video on the development of Pure Shave Click HERE

The cream is made with all-natural ingredients like sweet almond oil and coconut oil, which work to hydrate and soothe the skin while providing a smooth and comfortable shave. In addition, this Vegan friendly  cream is refillable, making it an eco-friendly and cost-effective option. Check out a mini review by Vegan campaigner and TV presenter Chris Packham HERE. The cream is priced at £14.95 for a 150ml Bottle, and refills are priced at £8.98 per 150ml pouch (purchased as a 450ml pouch). Click HERE for more information

To Sum Up

There are many natural shaving cream options available in the UK, including Bulldog Skincare’s Original Shave Cream and Lush’s Prince Shaving Cream. However, Pure Shave London’s shaving cream stands out as a top choice for those looking for an all-natural, eco-friendly, and cost-effective option.
