Best Shaving Cream

So, what is the best shaving cream? In short, it will always come down to personal preference taking many things into account; price, fragrance, ingredients to name a few. As the owner of Pure Shave I will always believe ours is the best shaving cream on the market. However, today we will have a look at what I consider to be the best of the rest.

Choosing the right shaving cream can make a huge difference in achieving a smooth and comfortable shave. However, with so many options available, it can be challenging to decide which one is the best for you. In this article, we will review some of the best shaving creams on the market, including their features, benefits, and prices, to help you make an informed decision.

Pure Shave London Shaving Cream

£14.95 for 150ml reducing to £9.98 when using a refill pouch. Pure Shave London – I developed the shaving cream to eliminate razor burn and rash. It is formulated with natural ingredients, including Sweet almond and coconut oils and an ingredient that helps to soften the stubble making it easier to cut. All the ingredients work together to help to soothe and protect the skin. Pure Shave is also eco and vegan friendly, refillable and fragrance free.

Kiehl’s Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream

Kiehl’s Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream – £19.00 for 150ml.  A premium shaving cream that is formulated to provide a smooth and close shave. Containing both Camphor extracts and Menthol which both have great cooling effects on the skin. The cream is ideal for those who prefer a non-foaming shave. (I have particularly sensitive skin which did not like the menthol aspect of this cream so if you suffer as I do maybe worth trying a different option.)

The Art of Shaving Unscented Shaving Cream

The Art of Shaving Unscented Shaving Cream – £11.00 for 75ml. This is another premium product that is specially designed for men with sensitive skin. The cream is formulated with coconut oil and glycerin, which help to soften the beard and provide a smooth glide. The cream can be used with or without a shaving brush and is easy to lather. (A really good cream but a tad on the expensive side)

Gillette Ultra Sensitive Shave Cream

Gillette Ultra Sensitive Shave Cream – £4.50 for 175ml. Gillette is a well-known brand that has been providing shaving products for men for many years. Their shaving cream is affordable and easy to find in stores. It is formulated with a rich lather that helps to protect the skin from razor burns and cuts. (Whilst Gillette lead the way in razors I think personally its worth spending a little extra on a shaving cream)

Clinique for Men

Clinique for Men £17.00 for 125ml. This is a premium shaving cream that is formulated with a rich, creamy texture that provides a smooth and close shave. It is also free of fragrance and oil, making it suitable for all skin types. (Big tick for being fragrance free but I still got an uncomfortable shaving experience and felt slightly raw post shave – again on the expensive side)

In conclusion

So which is the best shaving cream? As I said at the beginning it really is personal choice. The above brands offer some great products at varying price points but for my sensitive skin they don’t quite work for one reason or another.
